Mr. Assange has been equivocal about Private Manning, talking in late summer as though the soldier was unavoidable collateral damage, much like the Afghans named as informers in the secret Pentagon documents.
Total utter bullshit. I remember the day the apprehension of Bradley manning became public knowledge, I found out about it via wikileaks saying that any leakers should be extremely careful not to talk to anyone other than wikileaks.. He did not affirm that manning was the source, but said that since the org was implicated, wikileaks would be arranging legal defense.. Attorneys were sent to Kuwait, three of them, and were denied access to manning. This portion of the NYT article is a total fabrication. Disgusting.
